The bits You Need to Know


If you want to know what you need to know and bring for your chosen outdoor activities in North Devon, we have detailed lots of information you will need to know after you have chosen and booked your activity, including directions to our off site activities. On-Site Activities and Accommodation

There’s a few things that you need to bring with you to do the activities. Please check the details below for the activities that are relevant to you;

Ultimate Assault – We provide; Safety Helmet, Wetsuit & Buoyancy Aid provided.

You will need to bring swimwear for under your wetsuit, suitable footwear  (supports ankle) that can get wet and a towel.

Awesome 4 Some / High Ropes / Climbing Wall / Low Ropes – Safety helmet and Harness provided.
Wear warm & suitable clothing and footwear which supports the ankle! Please no flip flops or Crocs!

Mountain Boarding – Safety Helmet, Pads & Board provided. Wear Warm & Suitable Clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty/grass stained.

Laser Tag – You will need suitable footwear and weather appropriate clothing that may get muddy and wet.

Fun For Over 5’s – All equipment for the varying activities provided, please wear weather appropriate clothing and suitable footwear.

You must check in at our Booking Office at least 15 minutes before your session start time to ensure that your activity starts on time.

STAYING WITH US?

Timber Huts / Atlantic Lodges / Bunk Houses/ Adventure Barns/ Lakeside Cabins – The Ultimate Adventure Centre aims to provide comfortable, budget accommodation. You need to provide your own bedding, towels and don’t forget your toothbrush!

SITE RULES

-For group bookings a £20 CASH deposit (per person) must be paid upon arrival.
-No guests are allowed to enter the designated activity areas other than at their activity times.
-Quiet noise after 22.00. No loud nose on-site after 23.00. Please be considerate of other guests when returning late at night.

PARKING

Park in the main Car Park adjacent to the Booking Office. You can make use of the drop off points to unload your belongings at your accommodation.

BBQ, FIRE PIT & CHIMNEA HUT0

BBQs, our Fire Pit and NEW Chimnea Huts are all available to hire. Please speak to a member of staff to book.

OVERNIGHT CONTACT

If you need to contact staff between the hours of 5pm-9am, upon arrival you will be given the contact number for the Duty Instructor.

WASTE DISPOSAL, POT WASHING & TOILETS

Waste Disposal, Pot Washing and Toilet Areas are highlighted on the site map you’ll receive when onsite.

THE ULTIMATE CAFE

Our Cafe is open every day from 8am-5pm.

Breakfast and Evening Meals can be pre-booked outside these times.

The cafe also stocks some essential supplies. We’ve even got a tooth brush if you’ve forgotten yours!

Off-Site Activities

Please check the directions below for the activities that are relevant to you. You need to be at the relevant meeting point at least 15 minutes before your session start time to ensure that your activity starts on time.

Surfing – Wetsuit and surfboard hire for your session is included. You will need to bring some swimwear for use underneath your wetsuit and a towel.

Surfing meeting point;

Sandymere Road, Northam, Bideford, Devon EX39 1XS

Travelling by road: (from the North via M5) – Leave the M5 at Junction 27. Follow the A361 signposted Barnstaple. Take the A39 signposted Bideford. From the A39 roundabout at Bideford follow signs for Westward Ho! Take your 5th right turn, signposted to Northam. After about 1/2 mile you will be in the square, take a right turn, which feels like you’re going straight on. Follow this down the hill and after about 1 mile you will reach the entrance to Northam Burrows. You have to pay for entry on to the Burrows during peak season. Follow the road onto the Burrows until you reach the car park.

Travelling by road: (from South via Bude) – Take the A39 past Bude signposted to Bideford. You will drive past Hartland & Clovelly. From the A39 roundabout at Bideford follow signs for Westward Ho! Take your 5th right turn, signposted to Northam. After about 1/2 mile you will be in the square, take a right turn, which feels like you’re going straight on. Follow this down the hill and after about 1 mile you will reach the entrance to Northam Burrows. You have to pay for entry on to the Burrows during peak season. Follow the road onto the Burrows until you reach the car park.

Coasteering – Safety helmet, wetsuit & buoyancy aid is provided. You need swimwear for underneath your wetsuit, old shorts for over your wetsuit and suitable footwear that will get wet (Wetsuit/water shoes are not suitable due to the lack of ankle support, trainers are preferred).

Coasteering meeting point;

National Trust Car Park, Baggy Point, Moor Lane, Croyde EX33 1PA

Travelling by road: (from the North via M5) – Leave the M5 at Junction 27. Follow the A361 signposted Barnstaple. On the outskirts of Barnstaple stay on the A361 following signs to Ilfracombe. Turn right at 2nd roundabout, straight over the next roundabout and over the new bridge and over the river. Straight on at the next set of traffic lights, then turn left at the next traffic lights, following the signs to Braunton. Follow this road into Braunton until you reach traffic lights in the middle of the village, turn left on the B3231 to Croyde/Saunton.

Follow this road until you get into the centre of Croyde. Then turn left into Jones’s Hill and then left again into Moor Lane. After just over 1/2 a mile you will pass the beach on your left, the road narrows at this point, keep going until you reach the National Trust Car Park on your right.

Travelling by road: (from the South via Bude) – Take the A39 past Bude signposted to Bideford. You will drive past Hartland, Clovelly, Bideford & Barnstaple.
