BC Star Awards Training and Assessment

The British Canoeing Star Awards are designed for paddlers aged 16 and over. The 1 and 2 star awards encourage paddlers to experience the various types of paddlesport available. Paddlers then ‘specialise’ in particular disciplines from the 3 Star Award onwards. The focus of the 1, 2 and 3 star awards is developing personal skills and gaining independence, while the 4 star and 5 star awards are leadership awards which enable paddlers to lead groups in appropriate conditions.

The Ultimate Adventure Centre will initially be providing training and assessment for the BC 1 and 2 star awards and Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT). These awards will give you the fundamentals of canoe / kayak safety and training for sheltered waters.

Adventure Activity Instructor Training

The BC training will be based at our site in Bideford, North Devon, with additional sessions at local rivers, lakes and beaches. The next BC Level 1, Level 2 and FSRT training is scheduled for the 6th – 10th March and the assessment is scheduled for the 15th and 17th March 2017. The BC Level 1, Level 2 and FSRT training costs £100 per person and the assessment costs £75 per person. We are able to provide accommodation on site for the BC Assessment, please ask for further information. Further dates will be added throughout the year, for more information look at our training schedule. We have also scheduled training and assessment for the BC Level 1 Coach which will follow the Star Awards on the 27th – 31st March 2017.
